How to Make Diwali Diyas at Home

Hello People, Wish you a very happy diwali. In this post, I will be telling you about how to make diwali diyas at home with normal material available at home. Diyas are traditional oil lamps which are used to spread light during special occasions. Diyas are easy to make and helps a lot in decoration during festivals like deepavali. So, this guide about how to make diwali diyas at home will help you in making diyas for diwali festival.
So, lets start with making diya for diwali decoration 2018. Follow steps below to make diwali diya.

What You Need for Makeing Diwali Diya ?

• Mirrors and Beads (for decoration around diya).
• Water.
• Fabric Paint.
• Paint Brush.
• Wheat Flour.
• Glue. 
• Vegetable Oil.
• Cotton / Wick Cloth.
• Oven (Equipment)

Step 1 :
Take Wheat flour in a boul, mix some water in it and knead it well to make dough of it. Make sure to make it little hard not so soft like we knead for chapatis. For diyas, dough needs to be little hard. See in below Image for Reference.

Step 2 : 
Now, using the dough made from wheat flour, Make diyas with it. Shape dough in shape of diya. See reference image below.

Step 3 :
Now it is the time to bake the diya shapes you made in step 2. Put them in tray and put in oven. Bake @ 200 Degrees for 15 minutes and then take them out. Wait for it to become cool.

Step 4 :
Now, It is time to pain them and give makeover. Paint them as you want them to look like and use glue to fix deocration mirrors and beads over them.

And at last, put cotton thread (diya bati) in it and put some oil in it. Lit them up and enjoy the happiness of seeing diwali diyas made at home.
